Our Autumn Blessings Collection and Our People

Fall/Winter 2022 clothing has always been an incredible myriad of contrasts. This year proved no different as we upgraded our classic and trendy year-round designs with a mix of jewel-tone and earthy color palettes. Our collection boasts bright animal prints, fluid and warm textured fabrics, and timeless silhouettes. The exclusive Aneesa fabric from our Spring/Summer collection is also featured with colors that are perfect for Fall/Winter. The cuts were higher, longer lengths, and outlined with different tonalities. Our clothes drape gorgeously and flatter all body shapes with the trusted detailed finishing for the V-shaped necks and A-shape cuts. You will discover a world of light outerwear, long-sleeved tops, dresses, skirts, blazers, jackets, and jumpsuits, designed for the trendiest people in the cooler season but fit to wear all year long.

AUTUMN BLESSINGS 2022 is a collection that shares the beauty of the season. As deciduous trees lose their old leaves and embrace newer beginnings, so did the brand receive all the elevation of a prosperous business. We are eternally grateful to God and our valued Fashionista clients. They saw our determination to make something out of our business and helped us reach a new milestone. OJeanne grew beyond our forecasts in terms of sales in the last few months.

Additionally, the brand OJeanne, which started on a small scale at home in Tema, Ghana, is finally registered as a business in the State of Virginia. Moreover, the Creative Director's daughters, Aneesa and Jenna, who you see modeling the chic Little Grown Ups designs each season, moved to the U.S. permanently to join their baby brother, Kujo, another familiar face in our photo catalog. As the entire family is together, at last, we know that things will only get better from here.

Furthermore, we had the honor and pleasure of collaborating with PeepThis, a jeweler and artist from Ghana. You might recognize her from our team as Theodora Oti, the Fashion Coordinator, Stylist, and Accessories Designer who heads the OJeanne team in Ghana. PeepThis eccentric accessories complemented the Autumn Blessings collections and highlighted how quickly a simple design could be elevated. We met her at her studio in Tema to ask a few questions.

OJ: Briefly explain your background and work experience, including how you ended up as a jeweler. Personality

TO: Theodora Oti is my name, and I create handmade wire-wrapped jewelry pieces and accessories that are as unique as the gift recipient is. As a jewelry lover, I started designing jewelry as a hobby at University. Due to their popularity, the hobby evolved into a side hustle and creative outlet while I worked a corporate job, and now it is my full-time vocation.

OJ: Can you please share your inspirations and materials you use to create these unique jewelry pieces?

TO: Unique accessories with a vintage look inspire me, and I like to create very colorful statement pieces. Some of the most consistent materials in my production include; copper wire, brass wire, recycled glass beads, clay beads, semi-precious stones, ebony and mahogany wood, leather strips and cow bone/horn. The eye-catching combination of wire and upcycled/recycled materials will have you hooked after your first purchase.

OJ: How would you describe the jewelry you designed to complement Autumn Blessings?

TO: In designing the jewelry pieces for the Autumn Blessings Collection by OJeanne, I had to choose colorful patterns and shapes to complement the clothes. The outfits were neither too bright nor too muted, so my choice of accessories was such that it would make the fabrics pop.

OJ: Aside from this collection, what other ways do you collaborate with the brand OJeanne?

TO: Besides creating jewelry pieces for various OJeanne Collections, I coordinate the Ghana team. OJ is my older sister and I have been a part of the OJeanne story from the beginning. My project management skills come in handy as I liaise with seamstresses, tailors, and other accessories designers throughout production until the collection arrives in Virginia. In addition, I coordinate seasonal fashion campaigns and photo shoots in Accra and Tema. OJeanne and PeepThis continue to collaborate through many Pop-Ups both locally and internationally.

OJ: Finally, can you teach us five ways to take care of our handmade jewelry?

TO: Okay, these are my five tips on taking care of your handmade jewelry:

1. Store and protect your beaded necklaces and earrings in simple jewelry box.

2. Store all jewelry in a clean, dry place.

3. Avoid extreme temperatures and over-exposure to direct sunlight.

4. Try not to wear your jewelry while swimming or showering.

5. To clean your jewelry, in most cases, all you need is a clean soft cloth, such as a chamois. is a collection that shares the beauty of the season. As deciduous trees lose their old leaves and embrace newer beginnings, so did the brand receive all the elevation of a prosperous business.
